Month End Close: Account Reconciliation Report

See which client accounts need reconciliation, when they were last reconciled, and their current status, all in one view inside Financial Cents.

The Account Reconciliation Report provides a consolidated view of all client accounts requiring reconciliation, all in one place within Financial Cents. For each account, you can see when it was last reconciled and track reconciliation status by period, so you can quickly identify what still needs attention before closing a client's books for the month.

This report is part of the Month End Close feature and requires a Month End Close license. If you have not set up Month End Close for a client yet, start with the Month End Close Overview.

Access the Account Reconciliation Report

  1. Navigate to the client's profile.

  2. Click the Month End Close tab.

  3. Click the Account Reconciliation card to expand it.

  4. Click the report listed under the card to open it.

The report loads account data directly from the client's connected QuickBooks Online file.

What the Report Shows

The Account Reconciliation Report displays a row for each account in the client's chart of accounts.

When you open the report from the client dashboard, you see the account list with three columns:

  • Account - the account name from QuickBooks Online

  • Type - the account type (for example, Bank, Credit Card)

  • Last Reconciled Txn Date - the date of the most recent reconciled transaction for that account

โ„น๏ธHeads up! To see reconciliation status fields and start working through a reconciliation checklist, add the Account Reconciliation report to a project. The project view adds two additional columns:

  • Reconciled Date - the date you recorded as the reconciliation date in Financial Cents

  • Reconciled By - the team member who marked the account as reconciled

You can search by account name and use Manage Accounts to include or exclude specific accounts or account types from the report.

Use the Report in Your Month-End Workflow

The Account Reconciliation Report is designed to give you a quick status check before closing a client's books. A common workflow:

  1. Open the report at the start of your month-end review.

  2. Review each account row and check the Last Reconciled Txn Date to identify accounts that are overdue or have not yet been reconciled.

  3. Reconcile those accounts in QuickBooks Online, then update the Reconciled Date and Reconciled By fields in Financial Cents to record who performed the reconciliation and when.

  4. Once all accounts show the expected reconciliation status, proceed with your other Month End Close reports.

๐Ÿ’กPro Tip! Use this report alongside Transaction Review and the 1099 and W-9 Preparation Report to complete a full Month End Close review without leaving Financial Cents.
